Welcome to where two of my interests intertwine...travel and education. Because we are living the military life, we have been blessed with many opportunities to travel. My eyes have been opened to the wealth of knowledge that can be gained from exploring different countries and cultures. I've learned to convert miles to kilometers. I've delved into history in a way I never could have before. I've learned about different cultural norms. And, since we live in Germany...I've learned about extreme recycling and the how-to of deciphering the top-secret code that is the German garbage collection calendar :) This is just the tip of the iceberg for educational opportunities to be gained through travel.
Our children have absorbed a lot, as well, and it is my intention to assist my children in learning as much as possible from each of our adventures...but have it still be joyful. To that end, we've begun including historical, regional, cultural and geographical information about upcoming trips into our homeschool lessons.
